Have you ever wanted to loop a specific scene from a movie or music video—maybe to practice a dance move, learn a line in another language, or just enjoy your favorite part again and again?
With Nero DVD Player (available on the Microsoft Store), that’s totally possible thanks to a built-in feature called A-B Repeat.
I recently tried it myself and was surprised at how smooth and easy it was. Here's a step-by-step guide—with visual reference from the app—to show you exactly how to use it.
What Is A-B Repeat?
A-B Repeat is a video playback function that allows you to select a starting point (Point A) and an ending point (Point B) in a DVD video. Once both points are set, Nero DVD Player will automatically loop the section between A and B until you stop it.
This feature is perfect for:
Watching and practicing choreography
Memorizing dialogue or lyrics
Studying key movie scenes or tutorials
Repeating sports clips for analysis
Step 1: Download & Launch Nero DVD Player
Open the Microsoft Store on your Windows PC, and type "nero dvd player" in the search bar. Look for the app titled:
DVD Player & Video Player by Nero
👉Download from Microsoft Store 👈
Make sure it’s from Nero AG, then click Install or Open if you already have it installed.
📌 This app is lightweight and designed for both DVD playback and modern video formats like MP4, MKV, and more.

Step 2: Insert a DVD
After launching Nero DVD Player, you’ll see the option to Insert DVD on the home screen.
Note: The A-B Repeat feature is only available when playing DVD content.
In our example, we inserted a DVD titled “Let’s Dance” and clicked the “Open →” button to begin playback and access the A-B Repeat function.

Step 3: Enable the A-B Repeat Mode
Click the loop icon, and a small popup menu will appear with several repeat options:
Repeat Off
A-B Repeat
Repeat Chapter
Repeat Title
Hover over A-B Repeat, then click Set A to mark the start of your loop.
🧠 Point A is your starting frame—the moment you want the loop to begin.

Step 4: Adjust Points A and B
Let your video play until it reaches the point where you want the loop to start, then click Set A.
Continue watching, and when you reach the end of the section you want to loop, click Set B.
The video will now automatically loop between Point A and Point B.
You’ll also notice red A and B markers on the playback bar, which you can drag to fine-tune the exact start and end points of the loop.

Step 5: Stop the Loop
When you're done looping, simply:
Click the loop icon again
Select Repeat Off from the menu
This will return the video to normal playback mode.

Final Thoughts
A-B Repeat might sound like a niche feature, but once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever watched videos without it. Nero DVD Player makes it easy, clean, and reliable.
If you're looking for a DVD and video player for Windows with looping features, this is one of the best options available today.
