Motion Tracker
Quick Start
Segment Tracking Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Select the Tracking Mode and Import Video

Open Nero Motion Tracker. On the home screen, look under Select tracking mode and choose Segment tracking.
Import your video by dragging and dropping the file into the center area, or click the Browse... button to locate it on your computer.
Step 2: Define the Object to Track
Once your video is loaded, you will use the Tracking Options panel on the right to tell the AI what to track.

Select the Add Tracking Area (+) tool (it should be highlighted in blue).
Click directly on the subject (e.g., a person or object) in the video player.
Small blue (+) markers will appear where you clicked, and a red outline will automatically generate around the subject. A cutout preview of your selection will appear in the right panel.
Refining the Mask: If the tracker accidentally includes part of the background, switch to the Remove Tracking Area (-) tool and click the unwanted areas to exclude them.
Correcting Mistakes: To remove a specific marker, just click on the existing (+) or (-) marker again. If you want to start over completely, click the Clear button.
Step 3: Start the Tracking Process
Once you are satisfied with the red outline around your subject, click the yellow Start Tracking button on the right.

The tracker will analyze the video frame-by-frame. The timeline will display "Processing..." and the start button will turn into a red Stop tracking button.
Wait for the tracking to complete.
Note: Segment tracking analyzes pixels in high detail. Keep an eye on the Cache size indicator near the timeline (Green is optimal, Yellow is caution, Red means critical usage).
Step 4: Apply Effects to the Object or Background

When tracking is finished, click the Add effects button located on the right side above the timeline. (Note: Segment Tracking is a premium feature; a Pro purchase dialog may appear here if you are not subscribed).
You will be taken to the Effects panel where you can independently modify the tracked subject (Effect: Tracker 1) and the background (Effect: Background).
Choose from various post-effects: Original, Blur, Mosaic, Image, Color, or Desaturation.
Example: As shown in the final image, you can select the Color effect under Background and change it to bright green to create an instant green-screen cutout.
Track Faces
Auto Tracking
Simply click the Tracking Faces button, and Nero AI Blur Face will automatically identify and track all faces in your video. Each face will be numbered for easy identification. To apply effects to a specific face, ensure you select the corresponding tracker.

Manual Tracking
For manual tracking, position the tracker on the faces or objects you wish to follow. Adjust the size of the tracker as needed, then click Start Tracking. This method will only track the selected face or object.

Add Fixed Area
If you want to add a fixed area for mosaic or blur effects, click Add tracker and select Add Fixed Area. Choose the fixed area size and the duration it should appear in the timeline. The fixed area will be highlighted in purple on the timeline.

Apply Mosaic & Blur
Select the tracker you want to apply effects to, and choose mosaic or blur from the side panel. This will allow you to effectively obscure the tracked faces or objects.

Apply Text & Clip Art
You can also add text and clip art from the side panel. These elements will adhere to the moving objects throughout the video.

Trim & Export Your Work
Preview your work to ensure it meets your expectations. Use the mark in and mark out tools to select the portion of the video you wish to export. Once you're satisfied, click Save to export your video.

💡 Troubleshooting & Performance Tips
Recommended Hardware: For the best and most stable experience, an NVIDIA graphics card with at least 6GB of VRAM is strongly recommended.
AMD Graphics Card Issues: If tracking fails or crashes, it may be due to Direct ML compatibility issues. Try restarting, update the drivers, or go to Settings turn off hardware acceleration.
Intel Graphics Card Issues: You may experience slow tracking or failure to detect objects. Ensure your GPU drivers are updated to the absolute latest version.
