Q: How do I import videos?

A: You can import by clicking Import Video, or simply drag and drop files. You can also start a recording via Nero Recode Stick or a connected camera.

Q: What video formats are supported?

A: Supports a wide range including 3GP, AVI, MP4/MOV, MKV, H.264/H.263, MPEG‑2, HEVC*, AV1*, VP9*, and more. (*Some require the Microsoft Video Extensions pack) for importing. Supports export to MP4 in H.264 and H.265 (HEVC).

Q: What AI upscaling models are available?

A: 6 models:

Fast – quick general upscale
Animation – optimized for cartoons/2D
Realistic – for natural video footage
Versatile – softer enhancement preserving detail
Face enhancement – refine facial details
Restoration – restore the blurry videos by generative micro details

Q: What output resolutions can I select?

A: From 720×576 up to 7680×4320 (up to 8K), with 11 resolution presets.

Q: How do previews work?

A: Select a clip length (1 s, 3 s, ... up to full video), then click preview. After “preview” rendering completes, you can zoom to view the details of the upscaled video.

Q: How do I start the full upscale?

A: After previewing and set all the options you need, click “Upscale now”, then hit Start Queue to batch-process videos.

Q: Can I pause or edit a job in progress?

A: Yes—press Pause to edit. Note: edited jobs restart from zero if modified mid‑batch.

Q: How to resolve the out-of-memory issue?

A: Close the unnecessary applications other than Nero AI Video Upscaler to let the system allocate more memories, or you can restart the PC once before processing the videos. Please also check the system requirements to avoid processing videos beyond the capability of your PC.

Q: How to resolve the DirectX 11 not support issue?

A: Firstly, you need to make sure that your graphic card can support DirectX 11 although most of the modern graphic cards are able to support it.

Please check your graphic card’s specification on the vendor’s website. Then check your graphic card’s driver version in the Windows Device Manager and compare to the latest version on the vendor’s website to make sure the latest version of the driver is already installed on your system.

Use “Windows logo key + R” to open the run dialog box and enter “dxdiag” to open DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Check if the DirectX version is equal or higher than DirectX 11.

A: No. Nero AI Video Upscaler does not upload your videos to any cloud server. All video upscaling, enhancement, and processing are performed locally on your computer using your device’s CPU or GPU.
